Three factors determine the stack height, which includes the bottom rail, the fabric, and the headrail, when the shade is fully raised up at the top of the window opening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Length<\/strong><br \/>\nNot surprisingly, the length of your shade dictates the overall stack height. What is surprising is that for every two feet of length, you only add about \u00bd\u201d to the stack height!<\/p>\n<p>A nifty tool we offer on each product page is a table that shows the stack height by length. We have two different types of headrail: one for our cordless, Smoothy, and motorized shades, and one for our standard shades.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_963\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 249px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-963\" src=\"http:\/\/symphonyshades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Cordless.jpg\" alt=\"Cordless Bracket Dimensions\" width=\"239\" height=\"146\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">Cordless, Smoothy, Motorized Headrail Dimensions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The cordless, Smoothy, and motorized headrail is the big one. It houses the winding mechanisms, rods, and so forth. The height of this headrail is 1 \u00bd\u201d, and if you upgrade to top down\/bottom up, it\u2019s another \u00bd\u201d higher because of the moveable middle rail at the top of the fabric. Still, 2\u201d isn\u2019t so bad, even on short windows!<\/p>\n<p>The standard headrail is only \u00bd\u201d tall! Our double cell fabric features 3\/8\u201d pleats, meaning there is 3\/8\u201d from one crease to the next. Our single cell fabric features \u00bd\u201d pleats. Therefore, single cell fabric creates a thicker stack height.
