A Sale with a Difference

Helping Those In Need

We’ve ALL been challenged this year… in ways we probably never imagined! Here at SymphonyShades.com, we’ve faced obstacles – both professional and personal – of seemingly every kind. We know how lucky we are, though. We’ve survived… in many ways, we’ve even come through this stronger than ever.

Not everyone is so fortunate. Many are struggling, and we want to help. Through the end of the year, not only are we offering you, our beloved customers, 40% off your purchase of beautiful new cellular shades, but we’re also donating a portion of each sale to COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter).

If you’ve been thinking about dressing up those windows in fabulous style and ultimate warmth, why not now? Together, we CAN make a difference!

So… About Those “Obstacles”…

No doubt about it, things are not “normal” right now. I think we can all agree on that! In our world, supply chains are slowed, shipping times are less predictable, safety procedures affect all aspects of shade building, and frankly, our staff needs a little time to spend with family and to gear up for what we expect to be a gangbusters 2021.

In our continuing tradition of total transparency, we want you to know upfront that new orders are not expected to ship until late January or early February. We know, we know… that’s not exactly ideal for some of you, and we would put this topsy-turvy world right back on it’s proper axis for you if we could! But right now, we have to ask… can you spare a little extra patience? We sure do appreciate it, and we promise to build you amazing, durable, handcrafted shades that will be worth the wait!

CONTINUING TO MAKE PROGRESS!

Woohoo! We’re back to full production capacity, while carefully following all CDC safety guidelines, of course. As a result, we’re furiously working away at the backlog of orders placed while we were unable to operate (thank you so much for your faith and your patience!!!).

It remains somewhat difficult to determine precise production times for new orders. Our current estimate? Orders placed today will ship in approximately 3 weeks. And we’ve added new staff and taken other measures to try to reduce our turnaround times even further!

As always, please continue to reach out with any questions. And again, thank you so very much for the tremendous support we’ve received!

COVID-19 UPDATE 3/26/2020

Dear Symphony Shades Family,

The state of Vermont has recently issued a directive to temporarily close all non-essential businesses. We believe these closures will help get our nation back to normal more quickly, and so in our efforts to be a part of the solution are complying with the directive.

What this means is that our admin staff will be working from home and here to help as normal! We can answer questions, get you an estimate, and take orders. What we are not able to do at this time is guarantee a delivery date for your shades. However, we absolutely commit to above-average communication as we navigate these next few weeks. We will keep in touch to let you know the status of your order.

We’ll also post new announcements at our website as our status changes. In addition, feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns – or to have company updates personally emailed to you. We would love to keep in touch and to know that you are safe and well during this unusual period. In all sincerity, we’d be happy just to chat if you’d like somebody to talk to!

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and for the outpouring of well-wishes our small Vermont company has already received. You are in our thoughts, and we hope for the very best for each of you as we all pull through this together!

Sincerely,

Your Friends at SymphonyShades.com

Ever Wonder Why Window Shades Aren’t Window Blinds?

Window Shades or Window Blinds

Often times, customers call in and ask, “What’s the difference between blinds and shades?” A lot of people think these words are interchangeable, but they aren’t. Blinds and shades are two very different window treatments.

Blinds:

Blinds are “hard” window treatments. They use slats and vanes that come down when the blind is lowered. They are usually controlled via pull cord. The slats can be adjusted for privacy and light control; the different angles allow different amounts of light inside the home. Out of all the available blind types, faux wood, wood, mini blinds, vertical blinds and woven wood are the most popular among consumers.

Shades:

While blinds are considered “hard” treatments, shades are the opposite and are “soft.” They are made from fabrics on a continuous roll; shades are meant to fit tightly on the top and should stack very neatly. Because they are soft, the fabric flows well and is warm.

Shades cannot be adjusted for different light filtering types. The initial configuration will determine how the light will flow through the room. The most popular types of shades tend to be roller shades, roman shades and our favorite, cellular (honeycomb) shades.

At SymphonyShades.com, we only sell cellular shades. Why is this? We do this because we believe that they are the best available window treatments due to their durability and energy efficiency. To learn more about our shades, give us a call at 877-887-4239.

How To Remove Mini Blinds

For this project, you’re going to need a few tools and an open afternoon.
